Linda Wu 教授是纳米材料及表面科学方面的专家,她目前担任新加坡科技研究局制造技术研究院的资深研究员,科研组负责人,同时也是新加坡国立大学机械工程系的兼职教授。她领导的功能涂层科研组主要从事纳米材料的化学合成,以无机和有机分子材料为主的纳米涂层,以等离子技术结合化学沉积技术进行材料的表面改性,以实现表面的多功能化,包括自清洁,防腐,防污,生物兼容,杀菌,光感变性,自动释放,自修复等。吴教授研究的多功能耐磨涂层已经成功被菲利浦电器公司采用于高档电熨斗底板,并进行大规模生产,产品销往全球。吴教授的科研成果也获得过新加坡国家科技大奖(2002年)。她已经指导过10多名博士和硕士研究生,并与英国牛津大学,华威大学,瑞士邦理工学院洛邦理工学院等共同培养博士和硕士研究生。吴教授也是几个重要期刊的主编,编委和审稿人:Surface & Coatings Technology, International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Applied Surface Science, Thin Solid Films, etc.

报告摘要:

This talk will give brief introduction to Singapore, A*Star, SIMTech, and the Surface Technology Group of SIMTech. Major research topics include vapour deposition, electro-chemical processes and wet chemical processes, with focus on sol-gel materials and processes for surface modification and coating technologies for metals, polymers, and glasses. Sol-gel chemistry allows the formulation of wide range inorganic-organic hybrid materials in molecular level for tailored functional groups and required mechanical and environmental properties. Several functional coatings including superhydrophobic, superhydrophilic, anti-ice, corrosion protection, anti-microbial, IR shielding, photochromic, transparent conductive coating will be presented. For polymer surface modification, a plasma assisted surface grafting technique and smart reversible, drug deliverable coatings are introduced.
